I've noticed that I fly a lot less unless I'm earning a certificate or rating. Lately I've felt like I've been in a flying rut, my last time up was in Oct. Has anyone else experienced a rut in their flying after earning their ticket, and what have you done to overcome it?

I am not sure but I am about to go through the same thing I just finished all the training I need to complete school and I don't see as much flying in the immediate future as I would like too.

When I get into a "rut," I run down my list of friends who have begged me to take them flying, but with whom I haven't yet had the chance to take up. Taking someone on their first flight in a small airplane has a way of renewing my own excitement.

That's an excellent idea Josh! You're right, introducing new people to aviation is pretty exciting.

This question is addressed on the "Fly For Fun" page of http://www.fly-budget-ultralight-aircraft.com

You might also consider getting a new rating, like seaplane, glider, etc.
