Recently I just got my Third Class Medical certificate renewed by a new AME. I really liked the office and the doctor and I'm in need of a general physician. Is it wise to use an AME as your family doctor as well?

I wouldn't use your AME as your general physician. The AME is obligated by the FAA to report certain conditions even if he is acting as your general physician. So for example, if you go to the general physician for a checkup and you have extremely high blood pressure. The physician/ AME may be required to report it to the FAA.

Even though I don't recommend this setup, the pilot is still obligated to follow FAR 61.53 and not flying during a known medical deficiency.
