Hello, I desperately need an answer for this question. My country (Maldives) does not have many planes ( 3 Airlines. Maldivian, TMA & Air Taxi of which only Maldivian has a Dash Fleet and others float plane which doesnt pay much). Is it possible to fly for an international airliner like Emirates, Air India ..... without earning time in a airline in my country! I heard I cannot without flying in my own country for a specific time. Because their are many pilots without job in the country. Being a pilot means a lot to me.

Best bet would be to come to a country such as the USA and convert your licenses to FAA and try to get a job with a regional Airline here. Things are starting to turn around a bit now. I know Emirates has been hiring pilots from US regional carriers. The big International carriers dont mind where (which country) you get your time its the quality of the time that counts.

Surely would do that, if possible. But I'm assuming that not most airlines in US would hire me, mostly because im a Muslim and with the past terrorists activities... i dont think i have that much of a good chance... :(

Hey Husen, employment laws in the US prohibit denying employment based on age, sex, race, and religion. Of course, getting a green card here is a hurdle to climb and you may have to put up with background checks, but I think Martin's advice is worth a shot if you can!
