How do I find an AI for a pre-purchase inspection in another city/state?

Go to faa.gov: specifically, http://www.faa.gov/aircraft/air_cert/locate_office/aco/ to locate the FSDO in the city/state you're interested in. Email or call and they should be able to connect you with an area AI.

If you're a member of EAA or AOPA, they should also be able to refer someone.
